       d. major damage: Several of the old red-brick buildings in the central city have collapsed and roads and bridges have structural damage. Most of the city was without power for several hours after the quake and traffic lights were not functioning in suburban areas. Early reports on radio stations warned of continuing aftershocks and urged residents to stay home and keep calm.
